Volunteering

In our program we offer the opportunity to volunteers and help protect endangered species specialli our sea turtles.


Volunteering has a cost of $25.00 dollars per night per person, which includes lodging in a shared dormitory and three daily meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner). Minimum: one week.


Requirements to be a volunteer:


-Being over 18 years old and if you are younger you must be accompanied by a responsible adult.


-The volunteer must be in good physical health since the type of work requires it, besides working in adverse weather conditions. 


Tasks during the turtle season (June-December):


-Monitoring of nesting beaches.


-Night patrols.


-Relocation of nests to the hatchery.


- Hatchlings of turtles to the sea.


-Exhumation of nests, and more...

Tasks when it's not turtle season:


-Do beach clean up.


-Collection of garbage in the communities.


-Communitary works.


-Help local entrepreneurs.


-Reforest repopulation.


-Rebuild or reconstruction of the hatchery.


-Cleaning of the camp area.


-Work in the gardenning, others...

-Farming.


Volunteer responsabilities:


-Availability to work from Monday to Friday, approximately 6 hours a day.


-Each volunteers have to be trained to work and receive orientation about the program. 


-You must read our rules.


Volunteer privileges:


- To day of (Saturday and Sunday) and you can rest in the hammock, relax on the beach, go to the town or book one of the tourist activities such as visiting Corcovado National Park or Cano Island (snorkeling or diving).


About the camp:


-Our camp is located in a natural and quiet environment in Drake Beach, where the visitor can enjoy a relaxing atmosphere with ocean views and nice sunsets.
